Inspiration Package

by Wayne Cordeiro on May 21, 2024

Good morning! It’s a beautiful Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Ever get weary and lose your motivation for what you know you are supposed to be about? Did you also know that it is our responsibility to keep ourselves inspired? Instead, we wait for a flash of inspiration, a financial payload, or a new relationship that will excite us. But when that happens, we just get demotivated again. Did you know that it is God’s will that you be inspired and motivated each day? Read on …

Today's Reading:

1 Kings 7; 2 Chronicles 4; Psalms 98; Romans 2

Scripture

“Under its brim gourds went around encircling it ten to a cubit, completely surrounding the sea; the gourds were in two rows, cast with the rest. It stood on twelve oxen … and the sea was set on top of them. It was a handbreadth thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, as a lily blossom; it could hold two thousand baths.” (1 Kings 7:24-26)

Observation

It was an architect’s dream and an artist’s wish! Opulent by some standards and by others, it was barely adequate to befit the King of Kings. But by all standards, it was spectacular!

I’ve visited the Vatican and viewed paintings and the creations of Michelangelo, Raphael, and other irreplaceable works. I was in awe, but I don’t think God would tell Solomon to make the temple to impress people as much as He would instruct him to make it to inspire people!

That’s the correct word: inspirational. It was to inspire the people—to inspire them to honor God, to inspire them to worship, and to inspire them toward a greater sense of holiness and devotion!

Application

Each of us needs to build our own “inspiration package.” It doesn’t need to be opulent. Instead, it might consist of activities, people, or places to visit that fill our tanks!  I think everything I do should have an “inspiration” rating. Why? Because I believe everyone needs to be inspired:

  • Inspired to do better
  • Inspired to improve
  • Inspired to represent God as Christ’s Ambassador
  • Inspired to fulfill what God has called me to do!

I must build my own “inspiration package,” for I alone am responsible for presenting an inspired “me” to every situation. I will write down the things that fill my tank and make me happy in my family, my ministry, and my personal well-being. Then, I will schedule those things into my week!

Prayer

Dear Father, please help me be inspired and re-inspired so I may accomplish Your will in my lifetime! In doing so, I can inspire others to do the same!
