Good morning— It’s July 1st, the start of a new month! What does it really look like when someone’s life has been transformed by Jesus? The Apostle Paul reminds the young pastor Titus that real faith leads to real action. A life marked by trust in God will naturally become a life marked by doing good—bringing blessing to others. Let’s take a look.
Today's Reading:
Isaiah 1,2,3; Titus 3
Scripture
“This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.” (Titus 3:8 NIV)
Observation
Titus chapter 3 zeroes in on the transformative power of Jesus Christ and calls Christians to live exemplary lives within society. We are saved by grace—not by works. But that grace doesn’t leave us unchanged. Paul emphasizes that those who have trusted in God should be careful to devote themselves to doing good. In other words, doing good isn’t an optional add-on—it’s the natural outflow of a trusting heart. When someone truly knows God, their life becomes a benefit to others. A heart that trusts God becomes a life that blesses the people around it.
Application
Galatians 6:9 encourages us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
The truth is, doing good can wear us out. Serving, helping, giving—it costs something. But God promises it’s not in vain. I must guard my heart from discouragement, remembering that even when the results aren’t immediate, God is still at work.
Don’t stop doing good—your faith is showing. The world doesn’t need to see us; it needs to see Jesus. Today, let’s be encouraged to look more like Christ. It’s just what the world needs.
Prayer
Dear Lord, Thank You for saving me by Your grace and reminding me that grace isn’t the finish line—it’s the starting point. Help me to trust You so deeply that my life naturally overflows with good works. Strengthen me when I feel weary, and use my life to bring blessing to others.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
