The Real Fight

by Aaron Cordeiro on June 10, 2025

Today is June 10th, 2025. The Apostle Paul charges parents, children, and workers to live rightly—whether they are in authority or under it. Why? Because it’s a difficult task that requires faith, love, and self-control. It’s like going to spiritual war for our loved ones. It requires perspective—and suiting up for the occasion. Let’s jump in…

Today's Reading:
Song 1,2,3,4; Ephesians 6

Scripture

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  (Ephesians 6:10-11)

Observation

Right off the bat, Paul reminds us that the struggles we face are impossible to overcome in our own strength. They require us to suit up with spiritual armor—not physical armor. And perhaps the most important reminder is this: our fight isn’t against people, but against the devil and his demons.

The devil is a liar and is always working the angles to divide marriages, families, and the church. Knowing this is half the battle—it allows us to trust God early on. Paul says that preparing yourself before the pain comes will help guard you against the enemy’s schemes to kill, steal, and destroy your life.

Application

So here’s a gut-check question: Do you depend on God when someone cuts you off in traffic? What about when someone cuts you deep with words, cuts you out of their life, or cuts in front of you for a promotion or position? In those moments, our instinct is to fight back—but God calls us to stand against the real enemy. Not in emotion, but in His strength—wearing spiritual armor that protects our peace and preserves our purpose.

Prayer

Lord, help me look past the pain, the hurt, and the sting of life. Clothe me with Your armor today—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and Your Word. Thank You for reminding me to fight the right way and to trust in Your power, not mine.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
