In the End

by Wayne Cordeiro on May 22, 2023

"It's Monday, May 22, 2023. What if you knew how everything would turn out in the end? What if we could fast-forward the tape to the end and know the final result? Well, the Bible does this, and now we can rewind the tape and live confidently, starting now. Read on..."

Today's Reading:
1 Kings 8; 2 Chronicles 5; Psalms 99; Romans 3

Scripture

“What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge” (Romans 3:3-4)

Observation

Here’s a crucial question: If some refuse to believe  God, will that nullify the Bible? What if scientists don’t believe? What if our nation’s leaders or college professors don’t believe? And what if some who claim to be Christians don’t believe? Does their lack of faith cancel God’s faithfulness?

Absolutely not! In fact, it magnifies it!

In Romans 3, Paul refers to how the Jewish nation was entrusted with God’s Word (which always pointed to a Savior), but generation after generation refused to believe it. Although their lack of faith disqualified them from seeing it, God still sent Jesus! His faithfulness was NOT dependent on man’s response to it.

Our response may affect our personal experience but not His faithfulness.

Application

God’s promises remain true even when we struggle to believe them. One thing must be settled: no matter what the circumstances, in the end, God will be found true, and anything contrary to His Word will be false. So instead of allowing God’s Word to be discretionary or optional, I will establish what God says to be absolute because, in the end, God will be proven true no matter what man comes up with in the meantime.

Prayer

Dear Father, please help me daily not to be swayed by my struggles or the disbelief of others. When all is said and done, You will be found to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. So today, and until the curtains of the earth close, I want to be found standing on the promises of God.
