Elementary Homeschool

Co-op

Wednesdays | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
New Hope West Church, Eugene, OR

The New Hope West Elementary Homeschool Co-op is a faith-based learning community for students in grades K–5. We offer a Christ-centered space where children can build friendships, grow in faith, and enjoy meaningful group learning experiences — all while supporting parents in their homeschooling journey.

Led by veteran homeschool moms, we partner with families to disciple and encourage the
next generation. We reflect the heart of New Hope West Kidz, whose vision is:
"To partner with families to help children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building
relationships with them, being examples for them and teaching them God’s Word."

Mission Statement

New Hope West Homeschool Co-op exists to support Christian homeschooling families by
providing a Christ-centered group learning environment that enriches home education
through collaborative classes, discipleship, and social opportunities. We partner with
parents to create small, nurturing classrooms where students in grades K–5 can grow in
faith, knowledge, and community. Our goal is to honor Christ in all we do as we encourage
the next generation of learners and leaders.

Core Values

1. Christ-Centered Education – Jesus is at the heart of everything we do — from academics
to relationships.
2. Parent Partnership – We come alongside homeschool families to enrich, not replace,
home education.
3. Discipleship – Weekly Bible lessons, scripture study, and character-building are key parts
of our program.
4. Community & Connection – We foster friendships, support, and joy-filled social
interaction among families.
5. Excellence in Learning – Classes include science, Bible, PE, electives, guest speakers, and
more — all taught with care and creativity.

6. Safety & Stewardship – All adult volunteers must pass a current background check. We
protect physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
7. Small Class Sizes – With around 10 students per class, we ensure focused, peaceful, and
personal learning.

Parent Participation

This is a co-op, which means we all work together! Parents are not required to help every week, but are expected to volunteer regularly as part of a rotating schedule.

When you volunteer, you will:
- Help plan and lead the read-aloud book and/or icebreaker (circle time) activity for the
week.
- Receive guidance and support from our leadership team — you’re never on your own. We
are here to support you! Nervous about leading kids? That’s normal. We were too in the
beginning. You got this!!
- Assist classroom leader with supervision, activities, crafts, and PE.
-Engage with children and interact with them during free time. We have table games,
coloring sheets, and other resources available.
When you volunteer, you will NOT have to:
- Lead the Bible Study (unless you have a desire to, then lets chat!)
- Plan weekly schedules

Please note:
- There is no childcare for younger siblings during your volunteer day. Please arrange
childcare.

- This is a drop-off co-op unless you are volunteering. Our classrooms are small and we only
have room for so many people. Let us know if you have interest in volunteering regularly.
Have a special skill or interest? We'd love for you to share it! Parents are welcome to teach
electives or enrichment activities.

FILL OUT THIS FORM

Why do we have to do an interview?

We totally get that the word 'interview' sounds formal — but we promise it's not! This time
is simply for us to get to know your family and for you to get to know us. We want to make
sure the co-op is a good all-around fit for your child and your homeschooling goals. It’s also
a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more before committing.

Can I join mid-semester?

Enrollment typically occurs at the beginning of each semester, but feel free to reach out in
case there’s an opening.

What if the class is full?

We’ll place you on a waitlist and notify you if space becomes available.

What curriculum do you use?

We use Victory in Jesus for Bible. For science, we tentatively use The Good and The
Beautiful curriculum, which we love but are not affiliated with. PE and enrichment activities
are created by our leadership and volunteers.
