Good morning! Today is Thursday, October 9th, 2025. When the enemy tries to discourage you from your calling, remember—what you believe is what you’ll build. Without belief, you’ll always lack the purpose, passion, and priority to move forward. One of the enemy’s greatest tactics is to discourage us from doing what God has called us to do, hoping we’ll drop out before we see the promise. Don’t let that happen. Let’s take a look!
Today's Reading:
Nehemiah 1,2; Psalms 133,134; Luke 22
Scripture
“But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. ‘What is this you are doing?’ they asked. ‘Are you rebelling against the king?’ I answered them by saying, ‘The God of heaven will give us success. We, his servants, will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.’” (Nehemiah 2:19–20)
Observation
As Nehemiah set out to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, the enemies of God’s people—Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem—tried to wear him down through questioning, mocking, and false accusations. Their goal was to stop the work before it even began.
But Nehemiah’s response grounded everything: “The God of heaven will give us success.” He refused to let their opinions, offenses, or immaturity dictate his obedience.
What you believe is what you will build in life.
Application
I’ve often allowed the enemy’s taunts to run the agenda in my life. Sitting with Nehemiah this morning reminded me how easy it is to let the easily offended or the loudest critics direct our reactions and decisions. But that’s not who we are.
God has called us to build—and rebuild—our faith, marriages, families, careers, ministries, and health. Whenever we start building something that matters, opposition will come. But like Nehemiah, we can respond in faith: “The God of heaven will give us success.”
It’s time to stop listening to discouragement and start doing what God has called us to do—in His way and with His assurance.
Let’s believe again. It’s time to rebuild.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank You for loving us so deeply. You desire for us to do well and finish strong. Strengthen our hearts when the enemy tries to discourage or distract us. Help us to keep building—and rebuilding—what matters most.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
