Spoiler Alert

by Chris Kiriakos on September 17, 2025

It’s Wednesday, September 17th, 2025. I have an old friend who once told me about the worst spoiler he ever experienced. He was in line for the premiere of Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back (I told you—he was an “old friend”). Back then, many theaters had just one giant screen, and he’d waited overnight for his chance to see it. Finally, he was next in line to enter when someone who had just come out of the showing leaned out of their car window and shouted: “Darth Vader is his father! Darth Vader is Luke’s father!!” And just like that, one of the greatest cinematic twists in history was ruined—not only for him, but for everyone in earshot.

Today, we read the last chapter of the last book of the Bible…spoiler alert: Jesus wins—and if you’re on his team, you do too.

Today's Reading:
Ezekiel 42,43,44; Revelation 22

Scripture

“The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” (Revelation 22:21)

Observation

The Bible ends with the greatest spoiler of all time. Revelation doesn’t leave us wondering what will happen; it tells us plainly: Jesus is coming, His people will reign, and the last word written across eternity is grace. God gives us the ending ahead of time—not to ruin the story, but to give us confidence as we live the middle chapters.

Application

If I know the end, then I have the grace to endure the middle. Grace to face trials. Grace to stand through setbacks. Grace to heal from heartbreaks. Grace to carry me through hardship, confusion, and even death itself. The spoiler gives me courage, because nothing between now and Jesus’ return can erase the last line: His grace is with me. That means I can live with peace, strength, and hope until I see Him face to face.

Spoiler Alert:

Grace is the promise.

Grace is the power.

Grace is the final word.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that knowing the end gives me the grace to overcome anything in the middle. Let that grace steady me, strengthen me, and shape me until the day You return. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
